There are so many fundraisers going on right now with band selling raffle tickets, athletics selling calendars, cheerleaders selling T-shirts, and ROTC selling coupon books. They all need to raise as much money as they can.

Cheerleaders are selling Pep-Rally T-shirts to raise money so they can compete at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.

“The T-shirts are the Superheroes, Beach the Cavaliers, and Pink Out the Panthers,” Cheerleading Coach, Sarah Parker said.

They are going to have to raise a lot of money to be able to go on their trip.

“The trip will cost about $30,000 so we hope to raise about that much throughout the year,” Parker said.

The cheerleaders will be selling the T-shirts throughout the football season, but will be fundraising all year.

Athletics is also fundraising, by selling calendars through September.

“We’re selling calendars with pictures of our Athletics kids. They will also have coupons on the back,” Athletic Director, Bob Barrett said.

Athletics is raising money for all of the sports that we have.

“The first $10,000 goes to the General Sports Booster Club which represents all the sports. They vote on projects they think will help the athletics department. And the rest will go to the individual sports based on the percentage they sold for equipment,” Barrett said.

The departments overall goal is to raise over $50,000 to divide among the 16 sports.

Along with cheer and athletics, ROTC is fundraising; they are selling coupon books.

“The book is really a great deal; you can save up to $18,000 with the coupons,” Senior, Sawyer Eldredge said.

ROTC is raising money for their programs, like the Military Ball, MLK Day parade, and much more.

“We don’t really have a set goal, we just want to raise as much as we can to go to the Corps,” Eldredge said.

They will be selling the coupon books for two weeks.

Band is also fundraising. They are having the “Marching to Macy’s” Mega Raffle to help raise money for their trip to march in the 2012 Macy’s Day Parade. The raffle concludes on Saturday, October 22.

“The goal is to sell 4,000 tickets which will contribute $200,000 to the ultimate goal of $450,000,” Band Director, Albert Vela said.
