Varsity Cheer Guests on HOT 95.7

Good morning, Oak Ridge,  It’s your senior Varsity cheerleaders! Last Thursday, the seniors on the varsity cheer team were presented with the opportunity be guest DJs alongside PK, Sarah Pepper, Ivan, and Silly Jilly at the radio station 95.7.

“The Oak Ridge vs. Atascocita game was chosen as the station’s game of the week, which was why the cheerleaders were chosen to DJ,” Senior cheerleader, Caitlin Ballard said.

Working alongside the DJs was a great experience for the cheerleaders.

“Getting to be on the radio was great. Silly Jilly was awesome, and I had a lot of fun,” Ballard said.

Each cheerleader brought home a different opinion on the tricks of the trade about radio broadcasting.

“I learned that being a radio personality is fun, but it’s a whole lot harder than it sounds. My all time favorite part was announcing the songs and giving my shout-outs, but hearing my own voice was kind of creepy,” Ballard said.
